Michter's Straight Rye Barrel Strength (70cl, 54.6%)

A limited single barrel Kentucky straight rye whiskey from Michter's, bottled at its natural cask strength of 54.6% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The rye matures in new, charred American white oak casks. The spirit goes into the cask at 103 proof, or 51.5%, a comparatively low entry strength that Michter's pairs with a richer and more complex flavour profile. The nose shows sweet butterscotch and cinnamon with a hint of cherry. On the palate, toasted vanilla and caramel give a warm, full impression. The finish is long, with dry, spicy oak.
