Michter's – Straight Rye Single Barrel Kentucky

A Kentucky straight rye whiskey from Michter's, drawn from a single barrel. Master distiller Pam Heilmann keeps each barrel separate once she is satisfied with its maturation, so the barrels are never blended before bottling. The rye is made from selected American rye grain, which is cut before it is added so that more flavour can be extracted. Vanilla leads on the nose, alongside spices. On the palate vanilla stays in front, with a sweetness, a light smoky note and the peppery spice typical of rye.
