Michter's US 1 American Whiskey is an American whiskey bottled at 41.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Unlike bourbon and rye, which must be aged in new oak barrels, it is aged in barrels that previously held whiskey, which gives it a rich and distinctive flavour.
Michter's re-released the American in late 2013, after an absence of nearly three years, and described it as the best it had ever been.
