Michter's – US*1 Small Batch Sour Mash (70cl, 43%)

Michter's US*1 Small Batch Sour Mash is an American whiskey bottled at 43% ABV. Part of the previously fermented mash is used to start each new batch. Its grain mix means it can be classed as neither a rye nor a bourbon. It was absent from the market between 1989 and 2012, before returning to the Michter's US*1 range. The nose is warm toasted sugar with spice, sweet fruit and dried fruit. The palate has candied cherries, light pepper, caramel and honey-vanilla. The finish is soft and long, with dry spice, vanilla and oak. It begins like a bourbon and ends like a rye.
