Michter's US*1 Sour Mash Whiskey (70cl, 43%)

Michter's US*1 Sour Mash Whiskey is an American whiskey bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is made in small batches and matured in new, fire-charred American white oak barrels. Its grain selection means it cannot be classed as either a rye or a bourbon. The recipe was the distillery's most popular product in the 1970s and 1980s, disappeared from the market in 1989 and came back in 2012 as part of the US*1 range. Tasting notes describe warm toasted burnt sugar with spice, sweet smoky fruit, candied cherries and honeyed vanilla. It starts like a bourbon and finishes like a rye.
