Michter's – US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish (70cl, 43%)

A limited edition American whiskey from Michter's, made by maturing US*1 Sour Mash in a new barrel built for the purpose. The staves were air-dried for 18 months and then toasted rather than charred. Several barrels were produced at different levels of toasting, and the master of maturation and master distiller chose the one that showed the whiskey best. This is batch L22G2261, bottled at 43%. The tasting notes describe butterscotch and vanilla, honey, milk chocolate and orange peel, followed by toasty campfire notes, cherry and spice.
