Michter's – US1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (70cl, 45.7%)

A Kentucky straight bourbon from Michter's, bottled at 45.7% in a 70cl bottle. It is made in small batches, and rarely more than 20 casks are produced at a time, so each cask has to be right. The mash bill is built from corn, rye or wheat, and malted barley, with American corn at its base. The nose is discreet, with wood and corn. On the palate the corn becomes clearer, with honey and vanilla alongside. The finish carries delicate pepper and oak, a gentle warmth and a good balance of acidity.
