Middle West Spirits Wheated Bourbon, also known as the Michelone Reserve, is a four-grain bourbon from Columbus, Ohio, bottled at 47.5% ABV. It is aged for a minimum of four years in fresh white American oak.
The mashbill is 68% non-GMO yellow corn, 16% Ohio soft red winter wheat, 11% dark pumpernickel rye and 5% malted two-row barley. The pumpernickel rye adds a soft, earthy spice alongside the sweetness of the wheat.
The nose shows stone fruit, banana, toffeed nuts and coconut. The palate is honeyed, with dried apricot, vanilla, honeysuckle and dark chocolate. The finish is medium to long, with coconut cream pie and caramel.
