Midleton – Very Rare 2025 (70cl, 40%)

Midleton Very Rare 2025 is a blended Irish whiskey bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle, released in a box. It marks 200 years of the Midleton Distillery. For the first time in the vintage series, Master Distiller Kevin O'Gorman blended it from six grain and single pot still styles. The grain styles include a 22 year old whiskey from a mash of barley and malted barley and a 21 year old grain whiskey. A higher share of single pot still whiskey and a clear influence from first-fill American oak casks complete the blend. The nose shows caramelised apple, toffee fudge, vanilla, garden mint, lavender, cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate brings honeycomb, soft fruit, white pepper and a little chilli oil, then toffee and glazed fruit. The finish is rich and long, with oak and pot still spice.
