Milam & Greene – Triple Cask Blend of Straight Bourbon (70cl, 52.5%)

This is a blend of straight bourbons from Milam & Greene of Texas, bottled at 52.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whiskey was matured for about 4 years and finished in Texas. It marries a Kentucky bourbon (70% corn, 22% malted rye, 8% malted barley) with a Tennessee bourbon (80% corn, 10% rye, 10% malted barley), using the Milam & Greene mash bill. The nose is sandalwood and cedar, overripe pear, stone fruit, leather and roasted almonds. The palate shows caramel with plums, a hint of good grappa, roasted cocoa and orange zest, almost like a liqueur. The finish is of medium length, with dark chocolate and orange zest.
