A blended bourbon from Milam & Greene of Blanco, in the Texas Hill Country, bottled at 54% ABV in a 750ml bottle and released twice a year.
It combines 80% Tennessee bourbon with 20% Kentucky bourbon. The finish uses French oak staves that previously held tawny port and Milam & Greene rye. They are weathered in the Texas summer sun, charred at the distillery and steeped in the bourbon for about two weeks.
Caramel, vanilla, candied pecans and tobacco leaf mark the nose. On the palate come dried figs, cooked banana, honeydew, tangerine, cedar and nutmeg. The finish is long, with oak tannins, cocoa and a port-like dried fruit note.
