Millstone – Peated Rivesaltes 3 Year Old Special #26 (70cl)

This is a three-year-old peated Dutch single malt in a 70cl bottle. It spent its whole maturation in Rivesaltes casks, which give it a deep old-gold colour. The wort is crystal clear and ferments slowly for seven days. Distillation is also slow, with a relatively early cut point. The first impression is fresh rather than sweet. With a little time in the glass the whisky turns warmer and more complex, and an elegant sweetness comes through alongside the typical notes of a young peated malt.
