Miyagikyo – Single Malt Peated (70cl, 48%)

Miyagikyo Single Malt Peated is a Japanese single malt from Nikka, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the Discovery series that Nikka released in 2021. The whisky is made only from peated malt. That gives a distinct smoky note to a distillery whose whisky is usually known for its lightness. The nose combines toast, peat and exotic fruit. On the palate, tropical fruit comes with honey, floral touches, peat smoke and ash. The long, balanced finish brings chocolate, vanilla and peat alongside ripe fruit and liquorice.
