Moonlight Creek – Pioneer Single Malt (48%)

Pioneer is a New Zealand single malt and the first expression in the Moonlight Creek Legacy Collection. It was made from 100% Gladfield distillers malt, matured in a first-fill 200 litre ex-bourbon cask and bottled at 48% ABV. Only 1,000 individually numbered bottles were released, non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The nose is sweet, with zesty vanilla custard, soft tropical fruit and a touch of meadow hay. The palate layers vanilla over sweet spice, and the finish is smooth caramel toffee.
