Morris – Australian Single Malt Whisky Port Barrel (70cl, 47.5%)

An Australian single malt from Morris in Rutherglen, Victoria, bottled at 47.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The whisky first matures in former wine barrels of French and American oak, then receives a final maturation in Port barrels. This draws on the winemaking tradition of Morris, which has made fortified wines there since 1859, and gives a fruity, chocolatey whisky with fine spice. The nose shows grapes and milk chocolate with light spice and a little cinnamon. On the palate are wild berries, raspberries, redcurrants and peaches, with a creamy chocolate richness. The finish is warm, with chocolate, spice and fruit.
