This is an Australian single malt from Morris of Rutherglen in Victoria, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky has a deep copper colour with reddish hues.
It matured first in a combination of French and American oak ex-wine casks, then spent an extended time finishing in barrels that previously held Morris Muscat fortified wine.
The nose is rich with dates, figs and dark molasses. On the palate come dried fig, sweet malt, vanilla and spice, with a creamy mouthfeel. The finish shows a clear oak influence and an aftertaste that lingers.
