Morris Rutherglen Sherry Barrel Finished is an Australian single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 46% ABV. It is made by a team with six generations of experience in winemaking, blending and ageing.
The whisky is matured in French and American oak casks that previously held Australian red wine, then finished in barrels that held Morris of Rutherglen 10 year old Amber Apera, a dry, flor-aged sherry-style wine made mainly from Palomino grapes.
The nose brings spun toffee, baked peach fruit flan with peach compote and fresh sherry cask notes. The palate is subtly spiced, with toasted nut, clean oak, candied lemon and gentle sage and marjoram.
