Morris – Rutherglen Tokay Barrel Single Malt Australian Whisky (70cl, 48%)

This is an Australian single malt from the Morris distillery in Rutherglen, Victoria, in a 70cl bottle at 48% ABV. It is the second release of the Morris Tokay Barrel, made from Australian ingredients. The whisky was aged mainly in French oak ex-red wine casks, then finished in barrels that previously held the family's 15 year old Morris Cellar Reserve Grand Topaque (Tokay). It has a rich copper colour. The nose offers dried orchard fruits, malted butterscotch and burnt toffee pecan. On the palate come fresh fruit, white chocolate creme brulee and a hint of toasted spice, followed by a long finish of raisin and malted honeycomb.
