Mortlach 12 Years Old, subtitled The Wee Witchie, is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43.4% ABV. The subtitle refers to the small still in which part of the whisky is distilled.
It was introduced in 2018 and comes from bourbon and sherry casks. It has Mortlach's firm, meaty malt base, supported by dried fruit and toffee.
The nose brings plums, toasted almonds, caramel and heavy barley. On the palate there is warm oak and soft raisins, with a touch of salty olive oil. The finish is a little jammy and a little nutty, with a subtle citrus note.
