Midnight Dusk is Mortlach's 2024 Special Release, a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle at a cask-strength-style 58% ABV.
Mortlach is known for its 2.81 distillation, and this release builds on that dense, sinewy spirit with casks chosen to bring out darker fruit, richer spice and depth.
The nose combines dark berries, polished oak, rich malt and a hint of roasted spice. The palate is powerful and deeply textured, with blackcurrant, cocoa, molasses, roasted nuts and a meaty richness. The finish is long and bold, with dark fruit, charred oak and a subtle savoury edge.
