Huntress Malted Teacake is a Highland single malt from Nc'nean, bottled at 48.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition in the Huntress series, in which the distillery experiments with different yeast strains. This one uses a Belgian ale yeast. The whisky is non-chill-filtered, has no added colouring and is made from organically grown barley.
It matured in a combination of STR wine casks (56%), ex-bourbon barrels (42%) and Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose offers baked cake, fig jam and sweet malt with a light fruitiness. The palate is creamy, with buttery toast, ripe fruit and a subtle mineral note. The finish is long, with fruity, lightly spiced and malty notes.
