This is a Kentucky straight rye from New Riff, aged at least four years in new toasted and charred oak and bottled at 50% ABV.
The mash has a very high proportion of rye, with malted rye added. As a Bottled in Bond whiskey it comes from a single distilling season and is bottled at 100 proof. It is made without added colour and without chill-filtering.
The nose is fresh and spicy, with mint, black pepper, vanilla, orange and toasted oak. On the palate, cinnamon, sweet toffee and caramel meet firm rye spice and roasted wood. The finish is long, with vanilla, brown sugar and a dry, slightly grassy rye note.
