Nickel & Nickel Fog Break Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 is a single-vineyard red from Atlas Peak in Napa Valley, made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery follows a philosophy of one vineyard, one varietal, one wine. Fog Break sits above the fog line at about 1,800 feet, on shallow, iron-rich red volcanic soils. The wine was aged for around 16 months in French oak. It is deep purple in the glass. The nose offers black and red currants, blackberry, violets and dried herbs, with graphite, iron earth, wet stones, espresso and cedar. The palate is taut and focused, medium to full bodied, with a silken texture, superfine tannins and crunchy acidity. The finish is long and mineral.
