A single grain whisky from Nikka, distilled in 2000 in the Coffey stills at Miyagikyo and bottled in 2010 at a cask strength of 61%.
It was matured in a hogshead from warehouse no. 4 and bottled as single cask #23993. The Coffey stills were brought from Scotland in 1963, and maize is the main grain used.
The nose is soft, with caramelised corn, vanilla and a little spice. On the palate there is tropical fruit, custard and a light touch of toasted oak. The finish is long and smooth, with salted butter caramel and woody spice.
