Nikka Frontier (50cl, 48%)

Nikka Frontier is a Japanese blended whisky built around strongly peated single malt from Yoichi, Nikka's first distillery. It is inspired by the pioneering spirit of the founder, Masataka Taketsuru. The malt content is at least 51%, with the malt distilled in pot stills and the grain in column stills. It is bottled at 48% without chill filtration. The nose combines cask-aged aromas, jammy fruit, full malt and a pleasant smokiness. On the palate it is soft and full, with the sweetness of ripe fruit balancing the peat. The finish is lasting, with soft, sweet oak.
