Nikka Miyagikyo 10 Year Old

Nikka Miyagikyo 10 is a ten-year-old Japanese single malt from the Miyagikyo distillery in Miyagi Prefecture, near Sendai. It reflects the vision of Masataka Taketsuru, and the distillery is deliberately the counterpart to the rougher Yoichi. Indirect steam distillation at low temperatures gives a clear, fruit-led spirit, and the whisky has a golden colour. The nose offers apple and citrus fruit over creamy vanilla. On the palate come banana and coconut with a pronounced malty sweetness, and candied ginger adds a gentle spice to the finish.
