Nikka Miyagikyo Aromatic Yeast 2022 (70cl, 47%)

Miyagikyo Aromatic Yeast is a single malt from Nikka's Miyagikyo distillery, part of the Nikka Discovery series. It was bottled in 2022 at 47% in a 70cl bottle. The name refers to an experiment with aromatic yeast strains. The nose is refined and warm, with lavender and marshmallow, then liquorice, malted barley, flowers, peach, pear, vanilla and coconut milk. The palate is well balanced and full-bodied, with green vegetal notes, fresh pastry, peach and pear, and acacia honey. The finish is long and silky, with herbal tea, salt, ginger and floral notes.
