Nikka Miyagikyo Distillery Limited Blended Whisky (50cl, 40%)

This is a blended whisky from Nikka's Miyagikyo distillery in Miyagi, in a 50cl bottle at 40% ABV. It combines malt and grain whiskies, all produced at Miyagikyo, where pot stills and Coffey stills are both in use. The nose brings honeydew melon, pear and green apple, with honeysuckle, lily of the valley and citrus zest emerging in the glass, and a restrained cereal note behind them. The palate is light and gently sweet, with melon and orchard fruit, vanilla bean and baking spice. The finish is clean, with fading melon and floral notes and a touch of oaky spice at the end.
