Nikka Miyagikyo Peated Discovery Series Bottled 2021 (70cl, 48%)

Miyagikyo Peated is a small batch, limited edition single malt from Nikka's Miyagikyo distillery, formerly known as Sendai. It was bottled in 2021 at 48% in a 70cl bottle, as part of the Discovery Series, which first appeared that year. Peated whisky has rarely been bottled from Miyagikyo before. Here the smoke is drier and more phenolic, without an earthy or medicinal character, and it sits alongside the distillery's trademark exotic fruitiness.
