Nikka Miyagikyo Rum Cask Finish (70cl, 46%)

Nikka Miyagikyo Rum Cask Finish is a Japanese single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It spent its final year in Jamaican rum casks after maturation in bourbon casks, and only 3500 bottles were produced worldwide. The Miyagikyo distillery stands on the island of Honshu, near the city of Sendai, and makes only unpeated whisky. The nose is complex, with hazelnut, juniper berries, sweet almonds and cocoa, plus peach and mango. The palate is rich and oily in texture, round and fruity, with apple, pear, peach, milk chocolate, vanilla and acacia honey. The finish is long, with exotic fruit.
