Nikka Miyagikyo Single Malt (70cl, 45%)

Nikka Miyagikyo Single Malt is a Japanese single malt from the Miyagikyo Distillery in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, the second distillery founded by Masataka Taketsuru, in 1969. It is bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. This no-age-statement expression was introduced in 2016, when the age-stated range was discontinued. The malt is a mix of lightly peated and unpeated barley, distilled in pot stills heated by indirect steam, with a clear influence from sherry casks. Miyagikyo malts are known for a fruity, floral and refined character, with estery notes and dried fruit and gentle spice from the sherry casks.
