Nikka Single Cask Coffey Grain Whisky 1992, Cask #116399 (70cl, 62%)

This is a single cask Nikka Coffey Grain whisky, distilled in 1992 and aged for 13 years in cask number 116399. It was made at the Miyagikyo Distillery in Japan, using a Coffey still, the continuous column still that Nikka imported from Scotland in 1963. It is bottled at 62% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration. The nose brings vanilla, tropical fruit, honey and sweet corn, with a little oak. On the palate are toffee, caramel and coconut, with vanilla custard, dried fruit and warming spice. The finish is long and sweet, with candied orange, fading to a dry close.
