Nikka Single Malt Yoichi (70cl, 45%)

Nikka Single Malt Yoichi is a Japanese single malt without an age statement, in a 70cl bottle at 45% ABV. It is one of two no age statement bottlings that replaced earlier Yoichi and Miyagikyo labels. It is pale flax to chardonnay in colour. The nose opens with candied almonds, malted milk balls, milk chocolate, maple and nougat, with salted butter and light smoke behind. The palate is bittersweet, grainy and savoury, with a toasted bread note and a medium texture that turns dry. The finish is clean and tight.
