Taketsuru 17 Years Old is a Pure Malt from Nikka, named after the company's founder Masataka Taketsuru, known as the Father of Japanese Whisky. It was matured in oak casks and is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The nose is complex, with prunes, dates, raisins, cooked apple and pear, old leather, sandalwood and a little mocha. The palate is full-bodied and oily, with dark chocolate, toffee, roasted hazelnuts and walnuts, then sherry, blood orange peel, cinnamon and pepper. The finish is long, balancing fruit sweetness against dry oak, with cocoa and a fresh citrus note.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
