Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt Old Label Bottling (70cl, 43%)

Taketsuru Pure Malt is a blended malt from Nikka, made with whisky from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries and named in honour of Masataka Taketsuru, Nikka's founder. This is an older bottling at 43% ABV, in a 70cl bottle, matured in sherry and various other casks. It is reported to contain a higher proportion of Miyagikyo single malt, which adds an extra layer of sherry wood influence, and may be a vatting of somewhat older whisky. Nikka describes the style as gentle in malt flavour, fruity and well balanced.
