Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt is a Japanese blended malt, made by vatting whisky from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. It is named after Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka, who is widely regarded as the father of Japanese whisky. This bottling is at 43% in a 70cl bottle. This is an older bottling, said to contain a higher share of Miyagikyo single malt, which adds a further layer of sherry wood influence. The whisky was matured in sherry and various other casks. Nikka describes the style as a gentle malt flavour with fruitiness and a well-balanced taste.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
