Nikka The Nikka Premium Blended Whisky Limited 2025 (70cl, 48%)

This is a limited 2025 bottling of Nikka's premium blended whisky, in a 70cl bottle at 48%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. It was put together by chief blender Junji Iseki together with his predecessor, Hiromi Ozaki. The blend draws on whiskies of different vintages, among them a Yoichi 1989 Mizunara cask, a Miyagikyo 1979 Mizunara cask and a Ben Nevis cask from the 1980s. Maturation took place in Mizunara oak and conventional oak casks. The nose combines peat smoke and a fresh sea breeze with caramelised crème brûlée, roasted-sesame oak and green bamboo. The palate balances fruity sweetness with gentle bitterness, with dark chocolate and woody oak. The finish is long, between soft peat smoke and a dried-fruit sweetness.
