Nikka Yoichi 10 Year Old is a single malt from the Yoichi Distillery on Japan's northern island of Hokkaido, bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery uses traditional coal-fired distillation, which gives the whisky a subtly peaty, maritime character.
The nose is typically described as rich oak, delicate smoke and a hint of sea breeze. On the palate come dried fruit, dark chocolate and a little vanilla, leading to a long, warming finish with spice and lingering peat.
