Nikka Yoichi Single Malt Japanese Whisky (70cl, 45%)

Nikka Yoichi is a Japanese single malt bottled at 45% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a smoky whisky with a maritime character. The peat comes from traditional direct coal-fired distillation, while a briny note is put down to the sea breeze during maturation. The nose is toffee, mango, dates and blueberries with oak, Brazil nuts and light peat. The palate brings blueberries, rhubarb, cashews, toffee and raisins, then nougat, menthol, fruit tingles and mouth-coating peat. The finish is long, with sherry, nougat, cashews, toffee, smoke and lingering peat.
