Nikka Yoichi Single Malt is a Japanese single malt from the Yoichi distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 45% ABV. The label is in English and Japanese, with a stamp marking 1934, the year the distillery opened. In the glass it is a bright, pale gold.
The nose is floral and fruity, light and lively, with fresh barley, a slight smoky, iodine edge, then green peach, pear and lemon alongside nutmeg and ginger. The palate is unctuous, with a light peat running throughout, followed by milk chocolate, a little coffee and ripe strawberry. The finish is fresh, with white pepper and a touch of iodine.
