Nino Franco 'Rustico' Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG NV (75cl)

Rustico is a non-vintage Brut Prosecco Superiore from Nino Franco, made from Glera grown on the middle-elevation hills of the Valdobbiadene area. It is one of the house's historic wines, produced since the 1970s, and has been made by the Charmat method since 1979. The second fermentation takes place in autoclave, after the must is fermented at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. The vineyard soils vary widely, from thin and eroded on the steeper slopes to deeper, clay-bearing ground on fluvio-glacial deposits. In the glass it is bright straw yellow. The nose is fruity and floral, with Williams pear and white flowers, and the palate is soft, clear and delicate. It works as an aperitif or with light appetisers and fresh cheese.
