Nonino Grappa Vendemmia (75cl, 40%)

Nonino Vendemmia is an unaged Italian grappa from the Nonino distillery in Percoto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia. It is a blend of Prosecco, Ribolla Gialla and Malvasia, with each variety distilled separately before the final blending. The batch distillation takes place in copper steam stills, with careful removal of heads and tails and an intentionally slow run. With no time in wood, the spirit stays clear, bright and floral. The nose offers white flowers and pastry-like sweetness, then white peach, apricot and acacia honey. The palate is smooth and velvety, with ripe grape, pear, green apple and a touch of almond, and a slight bitterness from the grape skins. The finish is long and dry, with fruity sweetness and gentle warmth.
