North Star Chaos Batch 002 is a limited edition Islay single malt from Caol Ila, bottled by North Star at 50% ABV. A total of 1500 bottles were released worldwide.
It is a vatting of several casks: two Oloroso butts filled in 2006 and 2009, and a refill hogshead filled in 2009 and finished in Oloroso. The whisky was reduced to bottling strength and, like all North Star bottlings, is not chill-filtered.
Peat, smoke, white chocolate and heather lead the nose, with light citrus. The palate has burnt peat, smoke and fresh citrus, then toffee and nuts, with the Oloroso casks sitting modestly behind a spicy finish.
Tasting Notes

Burnt peat, smoke and fresh citrus, followed by toffee, nuts and malt
