Nulu 'Redneck Sangria' is an 8 year old single barrel bourbon from New Louisville Whiskey Co., drawn from batch C502. It was aged in heavily charred American oak and bottled at a cask strength of 66.5% ABV (133 proof), unfiltered and undiluted.
The nickname comes from its dark fruit and spice character. Water is suggested to ease the heat.
The nose is jammy dark fruit, brown sugar, sweet oak and a little cinnamon. On the palate come caramel, fig preserves, allspice, dark cherry and a touch of molasses, in a full, fiery body. The finish is long, spicy and warming, with toasted oak and dark berries.
