O'Driscolls Irish Whiskey Matured in Bourbon Cask (75cl, 43%)

O'Driscolls Irish Whiskey is made by direct descendants of the O'Driscoll clan, as a tribute to their pirate and smuggler ancestors from Baltimore, West Cork. It is bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle. The whiskey blends grain whiskey and malted barley, is triple distilled and is matured entirely in bourbon casks for a minimum of 3 years. The bourbon casks bring out a sweet vanilla character. The colour is golden. The nose is very light, with toffee apple, a little clove, and butterscotch and cinnamon behind. Sweetness leads the palate, with toffee, soft vanilla, fruit and slight spice. The finish is spicy and lingering, with plenty of sweetness.
