Octomore 15.1 is a five-year-old super heavily peated single malt from Bruichladdich on Islay. It opens the 15th annual series of Octomore.
The barley is 100% Scottish and peated to 108.2 PPM. The whisky was matured in bourbon casks and re-charred ex-bourbon casks.
The nose is earthy peat smoke with subtle vanilla sweetness and hints of charred wood. On the palate there is creamy vanilla custard and sweet, smoky oak alongside bold peat. The finish is long, balancing elegance and strength.
