Octomore 15.2 is a five-year-old Islay single malt made from 100% Scottish barley and peated to 108.2 PPM. It matures in American oak, red wine and French ex-cognac casks.
The nose opens with sweet citrus, lime zest and lemon meringue pie, then toasted oak, earthy smoke, tropical fruit, smoked honey, toasted bread and roasted coffee. The palate is viscous, with vanilla custard, caramel, toffee and black pepper, plus charred oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, pear drops and dried apricot. The finish has a maritime quality, with salt spray and lingering peat embers.
