Octomore 15.2 is a peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, released in The Impossible Equation series. The spirit was distilled in 2018 from Concerto barley grown on the Scottish mainland, with a phenol level of 108.2 PPM, and bottled on 12 March 2024 at 57.9%.
It matured for 5 years in second fill wine and Bourbon casks, then was finished in first fill Cognac casks.
The nose is elegant and smoky, with green apple, grapes and a hint of oak, and it needs time to open. The palate starts with citrus and mango, followed by dry smoke, honey and pepper. The finish is medium in length and fairly dry, with peat smoke dominant.
