Octomore 15.2 is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at a natural cask strength of 57.3% in a 70cl bottle.
It is distilled from 100% Scottish barley peated to over 130 PPM and matured in a combination of Oloroso and Amarone wine casks, both European oak. The wine casks add richness and red fruit to the smoke.
The nose has smouldering peat, dark fruits, figs and polished oak, with honey, roasted coffee and orange peel. The palate is rich, with raisins, treacle and toasted spice, plus chocolate, clove and dried berries. The finish is long and smoky, with oak spice, leather, black cherry and a light coastal saltiness.
