Octomore 16.2 is a cask strength Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, distilled from 100% Scottish mainland barley and peated to 141.6 PPM.
It was matured in first-fill and second-fill Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks together with ex-American oak. It is bottled at 58.1%, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings dark chocolate, dried fruit and sweet smoke with toasted oak and orange zest. On the palate there is toffee, sultanas, treacle and espresso alongside warm peat, and the finish is long, with smoke, sherry richness and a maritime freshness.
